The third excursion of the course was a trip to London! The exciting day started with the TATE Modern Gallery. Here the students were given their excursion task which involved taking pictures for 5 different themes which allowed the students to show off their creative talents.
Next, we walked to the London Eye – the most popular tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over 3.75 million visitors annually. The students enjoyed the breath-taking view of London on a beautiful sunny day! The students were also given fun facts about the eye and the neighbouring parliament in their groups by their attentive group leaders.
After lunch, the students were led on a walking tour in their groups to see the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace before finally arriving at the Trafalgar Square. The students then had free time to explore the impressive National Gallery.
After the gallery, the students were guided to Covent Garden and given free time to explore the local area and “shop ’til they drop”.
Finally, the students were treated to some of the best pizza in England* – Pizza Hut! They were then taken back to Princess Helena for some much deserved rest!
