Tuesday brought about the first of 3 excursions for the first course at Princess Helena with the students visiting the local town of Hitchin!
To start off with, the students were given time to explore the local markets and the students used their newly improved English skills to buy… sweets and chocolate.
Next, the students were taken to the centre of Hitchin where they were given their excursion task. With the fashion show occuring later that day (post to come soon), the students were given £10 per group and needed to buy clothes and accessories from charity shops that they could use later that evening. The students got really involved in this task with some great items being bought by all! Each group had a different theme for their models to make it more interesting!
After the success of the excursion task, students were given a little bit free time to explore Hitchin. The students then rejoined with their group leaders and headed back to the bus, ready for the fashion show!
